Meet the MVSA Storm Coaches

The MVSA Storm program is lucky to have a tremendous amount of coaching experience. At every level in the Storm program, the coaches bring a level of experience that provides the teams with outstanding instruction and development. Coaches have played and coached at all levels, including college. Information on both of our 18U, our 16U, and 14U coaching staffs can be found below.

Storm 18U - Team Salgado

Paul Salgado - Head Coach
Paul just completed his second year coaching MVSA STORM softball. Paul was the head coach of the 14U, winners of the USSSA "Mama Drama" tournament. The prior season, Paul was an assistant coach for the the 14U Carney team which enjoyed a 20 win season. Before joining MVSA STORM softball Paul coached travel and rec softball teams for 5 years. Paul initially began coaching in his home state of California for a women's modified-pitch team, which won two league championships in 3 years. Softball is a Salgado family tradition given that his sisters, cousins and nieces were and still are avid players and coaches. Personally Paul played baseball and football in his youth and in high school before serving in the Air Force and Marines. Coach Paul is a firm believer that playing on a travel team builds mental strength, confidence, determination and selflessness: which better prepares girls for managing and overcoming the many challenges and obstacles faced in school and life. Coach Paul believes a winning team is comprised of players who like having fun playing the game they love.
